    • Power-on indicator — when the display doesn't stay lit (any backlight mode
      where the screen goes dark, including None), the green LED flashes for
      100 ms every 3 s so it's obvious the radio is still switched on. The flash
      pauses whenever the LEDs are already in use: while receiving, while
      transmitting, and while muted (which flashes the red LED instead).
